MTÜ President: Tourism broke the previous year’s record in 2025
Last year was a new record year for domestic tourism, when it also broke the previous year’s record, with the number of guests exceeding 20 million – said Zoltán Guller, President of the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ), at a press conference evaluating the preliminary results of tourism in 2025 on Monday.

He called it an outstanding achievement that a country of 10 million people received twice as many guests as there are people living in the country.
Hungarian tourism grew 2.5 times the EU average in terms of guest numbers, surpassing Austria by more than twice, Croatia by more than five times, and the Czech Republic by more than twice.
The fact that last year’s performance of Hungarian tourism was enough to rank 7th in the European Union in terms of guest growth can fill us all with pride – said Zoltán Guller, and indicated that the airport reached 19 million passengers, which is the best result in the past 75 years.
