MTÜ bookings increased by 30 percent in one month
Compared to a month earlier, the rate of domestic bookings increased by 30 percent in April, Lengid László, Deputy CEO of the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) told M1 news channel on Tuesday.
The deputy chief executive said the profession expects the pandemic situation to ease in early to mid-June and a restart is even possible. Guests will also be booking in large numbers by the second half of June, July and August, he added.
He recalled a recent survey by MTÜ, which found that more than half of Hungarians are planning a domestic trip after the pandemic this year. Twelve percent of respondents said they would visit some foreign destination, with most indicating Croatia and Greece. (MTI)
