MTÜ: Budapest and the spa towns attracted the most guests during the holiday long weekend
Heavy traffic characterized the long weekend of March 15, which can also be considered the opening of the tourism season, according to the data of the National Tourist Information Center (NTAK), more than 300,000 guests spent nights in Hungarian accommodation, the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the information, more than 60 percent of guest nights, 190,000 nights, can be attributed to domestic guests, and almost 40 percent, 115,000 nights, were booked by foreigners. The most typical were the 2-night, 2-person trips March 14-17. between.
Based on NTAK data, 84 percent of the nearly 210,000 rural guest nights were registered from within the country. In addition, a good number of international guests also arrived at the rural accommodations, most of them from the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria – explained the MTÜ.
