MTÜ: Zamárdi belonged to the Hungarian youth during the STRAND Festival
The STRAND Festival once again proved that it is one of the biggest favorites of the Hungarian youth, in Zamárdi, which hosts the event, the number of guests increased by 36 percent and the number of guest nights increased by 24 percent during the event compared to the same period of the previous week, according to the data of the National Tourist Information Center (NTAK) according to – the Hungarian Tourism Association told MTI on Monday.
Between August 22 and 24, 14 thousand guests stayed in Zamárdi
60 percent of the guests were between the ages of 19 and 34, and 92 percent of the guest nights were due to domestic travelers.
In addition to the atmosphere in Balaton, the event also boosted the economy: the incomes of accommodation increased by 15 percent compared to the previous week and exceeded the values of a year earlier by 16 percent, MTÜ announced.
Most of the guests at Zamárdi’s accommodation came from the counties of Pest, Győr-Moson-Sopron, Vas and Komárom-Esztergom, and on the top list of settlements, after Budapest, Győr, Sopron, Szombathely, Pécs and Miskolc took place according to the total.
During one of the biggest events of the Balaton-side settlement, every tenth guest came from abroad.
