MT: tourism in Hungary closed a record year last year
Hungarian tourism closed a record year in 2012, however a massive restructuring can be observed on the market – Horváth Gergely, the Deputy General Manager of the Hungarian Tourism (MT) Ltd. told at a press conference on Wednesday in Nyíregyháza. At he event it was officially announced that Nyíregyháza will be guest of honor at this year's Tourism exhibition.
Last year, the number of foreign overnight stays at national level increased by ten percent compared to 2011, partly due to the new sending markets, and the new destinations. In Nyíregyháza Slovak guest traffic in 2012 increased by 25 percent in, while traffic from Poland increased by 10 percent, which also shows that the city was able to respond to market restructurings – explained Horváth Gergely.
