MOSZ: the dairy sector is in difficult situation due to the extreme heat
The extremely warm weather of the recent weeks brought a difficult situation to the dairy industry. Due to the heat, domestic milk production decreased by daily one million liter – said Krajcsovicz András, Chairman of the Board of the Cattle Breeders Board at the meeting of the Agricultural Cooperatives and Producers' National Association (MOSZ) on Wednesday in Budapest.
A shortage of feed occurred due to the heat. Signs of a crisis occurred in the industry as the result of the heat stress and the reducing purchase prices. The Chairman of the Board announced that the purchase price of milk per kilogram is about 10 HUF less, than in the beginning of the year. Now the purchasers give 80 to 83 HUF fora liter of milk.
