A boycott against stores with high prices has also begun in Montenegro
The Montenegrin Alternative (Alternativa Crna Gora) party has called for a boycott of stores that charge high prices, saying that no grocery stores should be open on Friday.
The boycott is intended to show that people are fed up with the fact that certain products, especially food, are being sold at prices higher than EU prices in the Adriatic country.
The party recalled that a similar action in Croatia has already led to results. The movement is also supported by Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, while the Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce says the action is unfounded and harmful to the Montenegrin economy.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, consumer protection organizations and opposition parties have also called for a boycott of large grocery chains, believing that large companies have made agreements to set high prices, which is having a negative impact on people’s living standards.
