MOHU presented the more than 230 million forints in donations collected through the mandatory deposit return system to the representatives of the supported pediatric institutions in a ceremonial setting.

Over the past year, more than 230 million forints in donations have been collected through the mandatory return system for beverage packaging for pediatric institutions. MOHU MOL Waste Management Co., Ltd. distributed the amount received from consumers in equal shares to the Heim Pál National Pediatric Institute, the Pediatric Clinic of Semmelweis University, and the Bethesda Children’s Hospital of the Hungarian Reformed Church.

“We are very pleased that more than 230 million forints in donations were collected from the returned bottles. This support will be used to develop three outstanding pediatric institutions: purchase medical equipment, renew digital technology and make infrastructure improvements. The possibility of support will still exist at the vending machines, and from July 1st, donations can be made for a new purpose, to support disadvantaged families.”

– said Tivadar Runtág, MOHU’s operational director.

“The possibility of donating has become part of everyday life – you just have to press a button and we have already helped. I am proud that I can also be part of this system”

– added Nóra Ördög, MOHU’s ambassador.

“The MOHU REpont donation program enables us to carry out a complex transformation of the pediatric accident department and to create a baby-friendly day unit tailored to special needs. The Heim Pál National Pediatric Institute is the largest pediatric accident and emergency center in the country, where nearly 3,500 surgical interventions are performed on 46,000 children who have suffered accidents each year. The goal of the development resulting from the support is to implement a new, modern, innovative pediatric accident center, where we can treat infants, children, young people and athletes in an environment suitable for different age groups and their different needs, with personalized professional healing and care options, where digitalization is also present not only in patient monitoring and care after surgeries, but also in techniques that help with the first movements and first steps, and where the environment also helps to alleviate the shock and pain resulting from accidents. We thank the public for their donations, with which they thought of us with every bottle, which helps to treat children on a national level, and that they view us as partners by supporting future-oriented developments”

– thanked Dr. Anikó Nagy, Chief Physician of the Heim Pál National Institute of Pediatrics.
