A handheld scanner that can also be started from a mobile app speeds up shopping in Tesco stores
The increase in the number of self-service cash registers or experimental automated stores all serve the purpose of making shopping as quick and convenient as possible by minimizing the time spent at the cash register. The Scan&Shop solution, available in Tesco hypermarkets in Hungary, saves time by enabling the scanning of products while shopping, so customers can pack directly into their own bags and avoid waiting at the cash register. Tesco encourages you to try the app by crediting it with double Clubcard points.
Online shopping is becoming more and more common, but there are situations when shopping in person in a store is more convenient, for example, when the store is on the way home from work. Of course, shortening the time spent at the cash register is also a consideration in this case, and self-service cash registers help. However, in these cases, the products have to be unpacked one by one in the same way as at the traditional cash register, which takes longer in the case of a fully loaded shopping cart.
