The MNB may maintain the value limit of 15,000 HUF for credit card payments
The central bank proposes to keep the 15,000 HUF limit for bank card payments, the managing director of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank told M1 news channel on Friday.
Bartha Lajos said that the previous limit of 5,000 HUF had been raised to 15,000 HUF in order to touch the terminal less often, thus reducing the risk of the coronavirus spreading. According to the data of the central bank, with the introduction of the value limit of 15,000 HUF, 90 percent of transactions can be carried out without contact. (MTI)
