MNB: PIN code-free touch card payments next year of 15,000 HUF limit may remain next year
The value limit for contact card payments without a PIN code of 15,000 HUF may remain the same next year, as card companies and financial institutions also support maintaining the increased limit even after the legal deadline – the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) told MTI.
According to their information, almost 90 percent of touch transactions can be paid without entering a PIN code with an increased threshold during the spring period of the coronavirus pandemic, which is about 28 percentage points higher than the previous threshold of 5,000 HUF. (MTI)
