The MNB will issue new 500-forint banknotes from 1 February
One can pay with the old version of the banknotes until 31 October 2019 – the Hungarian National Bank (MNB) told MTI on Monday.
They also noted that with the 500 HUF banknote exchange, the renewal of forint banknotes started in 2014 is nearing completion.
The MNB has not yet decided on the withdrawal of the old 10,000 HUF banknotes, so both the old and new versions of this denomination can continue to be used in cash circulation without restriction. (MTI)
