The Food Bank has opened a new warehouse in Miskolc
The new premises of the Hungarian Food Bank Association in Miskolc have started operating. The aim of the local Food Bank is to bring help closer to the needy in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, to provide more efficient supplies to charities operating in the area with the support of local food distribution and production companies, and to get more saved food where it is most needed.
In Hungary, 1.8 million tons of food are lost every year. The aim of the Food Bank is to create a link between the accumulating food surpluses and those in need, and thus to help reduce hunger and food waste in Hungary.
