Miró Aperitivo Night – the Spanish vermouth is once again setting off on its conquering journey in Budapest
Miró, the world’s leading Spanish vermouth brand, recently debuted in Budapest at Mabell Café. The drink distributed by Premium Gin Hungary is one of the best-known and most influential brands of aperitivo culture.
The aim of the event was for domestic consumers to discover: vermouth is not just an old drink, but a reviving category that can break the bad reputation that has developed in Hungary through quality, sophisticated versions.
Vermouth is a symbol of the Mediterranean lifestyle in Spain: La hora del vermut is nothing more than the time of day when friends and families gather to stop for a moment and enjoy being together with a glass of vermouth and a few bites of tapas.
Guests of the Aperitivo Night were able to learn about the versatile uses of vermouth: in addition to the classic ways of consumption, they could taste Vermouth Spritz, Vermouth & Tonic, signature cocktails, and even hot vermouth variations for the winter months. The gastronomic experience was completed by authentic Spanish tapas.
Zsolt Erdei, founder of Premium Gin Hungary, highlighted at the event:
“Our goal is for the Hungarian public to get to know what good vermouth is like and how diverse it can be consumed – from a light spritz to hot winter drinks. We would like to show that sometimes a glass of vermouth and a few bites of tapas are enough to experience the Mediterranean way of life. The event was the perfect opportunity to show the experience that Miró offers up close.”
Miró – tradition from Reus
The history of Miró began in 1914 in Cornudella de Montsant, and then moved in 1957 Reus, which is often referred to as the capital of vermouth. At the beginning of the 20th century, dozens of distilleries operated in the city, which laid the foundation for the Catalan vermouth culture. Reus is still one of the most important centers of vermouth today, where the drink is an integral part of the aperitivo.
Miró vermouth has been made for over a century from carefully selected ingredients and secret recipes. The brand offers the classic Rosso, Blanco and Rosé versions, each of which shows the diversity of vermouth in a different style. Miró simultaneously preserves Catalan heritage and opens new paths in modern cocktail culture, proving that vermouth is a timeless and trendy drink.
