The food supply of our country is secured

Due to its natural endowments, Hungary is not only a self-sufficient food exporter, but also a significant food exporter. Hungary is able to supply about 120 percent of its basic food, but the country’s production potential can be increased to 150 percent, the National Chamber of Agriculture said. The food industry is the third largest processing industry in Hungary, the 5,400 actively operating food enterprises directly employ about one hundred thousand people, and 65 percent of the raw materials produced by Hungarian agriculture are processed into quality food.
