About seventeen thousand families are supported by Katolikus Karitász’s Easter non-perishable food collection
One hundred and fifty tons of food were collected at the Easter non-perishable food collection initiated by the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference and conducted by Catholic Charity, of which almost seventeen thousand families will have basic food on their holiday tables, the aid organization told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the announcement, thousands participated in the nationwide collection called Lasting Love. March 3-10. in the action that took place between 11 and 15, flour, rice, dry pasta, oil, canned goods, instant soups and other durable food items were expected at the official collection points and parishes, which the charity’s volunteers will deliver to people with a difficult fate until Easter.
Sweets were also packed in the family members’ donation, thinking of the little ones as well – they noted.
