Everyone would buy a smart car
Nearly three quarters of consumers, 72 percent would delay buying a car by a year if a smart version was available from their favourite make – reveals an Ericsson-AT&T Drive Studio joint survey. Two thirds of the survey’s participants found it important for cars to have smart features. 67 percent of those asked would subscribe to one more, new internet service just to connect their car to the online world. 72 percent opined that without GPS navigation and real-time traffic data no car can be smart. Half of drivers would say yes if insurance companies wanted to track their car to see their driving habits and set the insurance fee accordingly. Arun Bhikshesvaran, marketing director of Ericsson told that the study makes it clear: in the future the smart functions of cars will become an important service when buying a vehicle.
