Every fifth turkey is exported from Hungary
The Hungarian turkey sector constantly loses its position in the last six years, but it is still dominant at the European and even at the world market – states the communication of the Poultry Product Council.
In Hungary, the per capita consumption of poultry meat in 2009 was 32 kilograms, which is significantly higher than the 24.1 kilograms of the EU-25 average. The bulk of the meat consumption in Hungary has been exposed by chicken: 18.8 kilograms per capita, but the turkey consumption is also significant with 7.5 kilograms – reports szabadfold.hu.
