Every fifth Hungarian travelled in the first half of the year
According to the Central Statistical Office; 21 percent of the Hungarian population was involved in domestic tourism, in the first half of the year, travelling at least once a multi-day journey domestically. This is 3 percent less than a year earlier.
The travelers spent 96 billion forints, which is a 17 percent decrease, compared to the previous year. Thirty-five percent of the tourism consumption came from Budapest residents, and 28 percent took place at the Balaton region. The number of trips were 8 million and the time spent was 30 million days. It is a 18 percent decrease, compared to the datas of last year – reports Central Statistical Office.
