Together, Nestlé and Tesco collected more donations for the needy than ever before
As a result of their joint campaign last year, Tesco and Nestlé are supporting the work of the Hungarian Food Bank Association with HUF 16 million. As part of the charity campaign announced in the fall, Nestlé donated 1 percent of the value of Nestlé products sold in Tesco stores to charity, and Tesco doubled the amount. From the collected support, the Food Bank delivers 171,000 food packages to those in need.
Last fall, Nestlé and Tesco teamed up again to support people with a difficult fate with the help of customers. During the charity campaign (between September 28 and October 11, 2023), Nestlé offered 1 percent of the price of Nestlé products (e.g. sweets, coffee, baby food, pet food, seasonings, sauces, soup cubes and powders) purchased in Tesco hypermarkets , and Tesco doubled the amount collected in this way, so a total of more than HUF 15.5 million was raised to feed the needy. The two companies supplement the donation to HUF 16 million, which is received by the Hungarian Food Bank Association, who can deliver 171,000 food packages to the needy. These packages typically contain near-expiry products with packaging defects, but of high quality and perfectly suitable for consumption, which the organization collects from stores and food manufacturers on a daily basis.
