Dávid Miller: It’s uplifting if we can help
Headphones, clothing and perfumes: Yettel fulfilled the wishes of 1,200 children this year in its joint Christmas campaign with the Baptist Charity. Based on the charity’s experience, the fewest donations usually go to young people aged 13-18, even though this age group is in particular need of encouragement and support.
The mobile operator’s customers were able to find Christmas decorations in twenty Yettel stores across the country, each with a QR code containing the story and wish of a teenager. Yettel and the Baptist Charity provided the gifts, and actor-singer Dávid Miller was also happy to join in the handover:
“Since I was a child, I have seen it as an example to try to help whenever we can. All in all, I had a very good year, with lots of positive memories, and in closing, I can say goodbye to 2024 by not only receiving good experiences in the past months, but also giving them.”
Dávid Miller usually participates in charity initiatives not in an organized way, but on his own initiative. He has visited disadvantaged children and children participating in family protection programs on several occasions, collecting and delivering gifts for them, and even singing Christmas songs with them.
“It is terrible to see the deprivation of all ages, yet children are the most helpless, their bitterness and pain touch me the most. It can be a heartbreaking experience, but at the same time it is at least as uplifting if we can help. We are especially sensitive to this during the holidays,” added Dávid Miller. “I often think when I put up a row of lights, how lucky I am and how grateful I am for my situation, because there is no electricity anywhere, let alone Christmas lights.”
