Edeka Introduces ‘Mikro-Plastikfrei’ Label For Own-Brand Cosmetics
Germany’s Edeka has announced that it has introduced a new label to mark its own-brand microplastics-free cosmetics.
The ‘Mikro-Plastikfrei’ label will be gradually added to the retailer’s entire range of microplastics-free cosmetics, comprising around 300 products.
The move will help Edeka in highlighting these products and help consumers make a conscious purchasing decision.
Presently, Edeka offers around 140 cosmetic products that are free of microplastics and its subsidiary Netto Marken-Discount offers around 120.
The retailer aims to remove microplastics from its entire range of private-label cosmetics by the end of 2020.
