Meister curse for Hungarian collegues by first female chef with Michelin stars
Léa Linster is a very technically aware chef, and no more was this apparent than in 1989 when she became the first and only female chef to have won the highly competitive Bocuse d'Or trophy.
She was invited to Budapest by the
Hungarian Gastronomy Association and Vilmos Kreil, where she teaches
the Hungarian specialist on 19-20 Mai.
Linster was destined to cook. The
daughter of a pastry chef and cook, Linster was born in 1955 and from
an early age was surrounded by the world of gastronomy.
Having
trained in great culinary houses such as that of Fredy Girardet, she
returned to the family business, Frisange in Luxembourg, and when her
father died she took over the running of the operation. In 1982 she
opened her first fine-dining restaurant, L‚a Linster. Five years
later she was awarded a Michelin star.
