What is the latest on the PET-market?
– In the EU demand for the environmentally friendly and aesthetic PET packaging is skyrocketing. Partly due to the fact that the European glass industry is struggling with a lack of capacity. Now more conservative companies start to turn to the possibilities offered by PET and ISBM technology. Western European consumers are now used to buying traditionally glass-packaged products in PET. This shift has just commenced in Hungary – points out Natália Wappel, head of PET-Power BV’s Hungarian representation. The Dutch company develops PET packagings with the focus on high-quality products. Consumer demand grows for convenience packaging (e.g. spice in a plastic bottle with flip-top cap instead of a paper sachet).
