What does Ferdinand Habsburg have to do with the Ebes football team?
Weerts Logistics Park (WLP) HUR One Kft. supports the Ebes Football Department with HUF 5 million, further strengthening its commitment to local communities. The company with a Belgian-Hungarian ownership background is building a nearly 55,000 m² logistics hall in Ebesen near the Debrecen airport and the BMW factory under construction, while actively participating in the development of the community and sports life of the settlement. WLP also plays a major role in charity at the international level, paying particular attention to the support of sports. “Run fast, act even faster!” initiative with a social purpose was started by the Austrian racing driver Ferdinand Habsburg, a member of the famous Habsburg family, when he was a competitor of the Weerts Racing Team.
Community support on a global scale
Weerts Logistics Park (WLP) is committed to sustainable growth, which aims to create jobs and support economic development in the regions where it is present with its investments and developments. Social responsibility and philanthropy have always played a decisive role in the operation of the company group, especially with regard to the support of the Green Future Project, which prioritizes initiatives that support the sustainability of motor sports.
It is a priority for WLP to make all its activities – including motorsport and logistics projects – carbon neutral. He buys and protects plots of land in the Amazon rainforest to save them from deforestation. It is also experimenting with synthetic fuels, thereby reducing its carbon footprint.
Its real estate development division aims to cover the roofs of all its logistics facilities with solar panels. The company with a Belgian-Hungarian ownership background also designs all new buildings in Hungary in such a way that the roof structure is suitable for receiving solar panels in the event that the legal environment becomes more favorable in the future.
