MFB Director: Interest-free loans worth HUF 39 billion will help businesses develop energy efficiency
The Hungarian Development Bank (MFB) is supporting the energy efficiency developments of enterprises with a new interest-free loan, almost 39 billion forints are available in the EU co-financed loan structure – the head of the MFB EU Business Directorate informed in the Tuesday morning program of the M1 current affairs channel.
Levente Kasziba said: the most important objective of the loan program is the development of energy efficiency, and this is currently the most favorable energy efficiency development opportunity in Hungary. This allows them to reduce their costs, all of this interest-free, and the cost reduction is achieved together with the reduction of harmful substances, so it is good for both businesses and the environment – he added.
According to his description
Each business can apply for a loan of between 10 million and 500 million forints, and according to the regulations, at least 30 percent energy efficiency must be achieved compared to the initial state.
Within the framework of the program, you can apply for the energy modernization of buildings, such as insulation, replacement of windows and doors, modernization of the domestic hot water system, or energy modernization of machines and equipment. In the case of machines, the term is linked to amortization, it can be said that the cost of the loan can be paid from the amortization cost, and there are two years from the conclusion of the contract to implementation – he indicated.
According to his statement, the new, interest-free loan is aimed at the entire Hungarian entrepreneurial community, anyone with a closed business year can apply, and water utility service companies can also participate. He noted, however, that the development must be implemented outside Budapest.
Loan applications can be submitted until the end of May 2027 or until the budget is exhausted.
