The KSH starts an agricultural census
The Central Statistical Office (KSH) started the agricultural census of more than 22,000 individual farms across the country on Wednesday. Farmers can answer the questions online until May 23, and after that – until June 15 – with the help of enumerators in person or by phone, the KSH told MTI on Wednesday.

It was announced: the purpose of data collection is to provide up-to-date information for domestic and EU decision-makers and farmers. With the help of the survey data, our country fulfills its obligation to provide data to the European Union. The provision of data is required by government decree, and the response is mandatory. Before the data collection period, the KSH sent the information required to fill out the questionnaire and the access code to all stakeholders by e-mail or post. Péter Tóth, head of the KSH’s Agricultural Statistics Department, said in the announcement: the survey deals with issues related to land use and livestock. The results of the census help to establish the basis for policy decisions and support systems that serve the interests of producers.
Non-prioritized individual farms can fulfill their obligation to provide data in two ways
Between May 15 and 23, they can fill out the questionnaire online on the maja.ksh.hu page, and after that, between May 24 and June 15, with the help of enumerators, the answers can be given in person or by phone. Enumerators with photo IDs only visit farmers who did not use the self-filling option. The interviewers record the data electronically. It is important that for individual farms of particular importance, the data collection takes place entirely in the framework of online self-filling – they wrote.
The KSH uses the information obtained during the census for statistical purposes only, does not disclose it to other bodies or persons, and guarantees the security of data management in accordance with legal requirements.
