Meteorological Service: the drought has ended, the autumn recharge of the soils continues
In the rest of the week, several rains affecting large areas can be expected, thus the autumn recharge of the soils will continue – the National Meteorological Service wrote in its agrometeorological analysis on Monday.
Thanks to the rains so far, the soils have been sufficiently moistened, so that the canola develops uniformly and beautifully, and the sowing of the autumn ears of corn can also take place in a good seedbed – they wrote. They drew attention to the fact that weeds started to grow rapidly in rainy weather, and the increased humidity also favored fungal diseases. They added: the agricultural drought has ended everywhere in the country, the upper 20 centimeter layer of soils is typically saturated or close to it, and more and more moisture can seep into the lower layers as well. The moisture conditions of the middle (0-50 centimeter) soil layer are also satisfactory, but the lower (0-100 centimeter) layers are still quite dry in many places, they wrote. It was noted that due to the rainfall that arrived after the drought, the green mass increased significantly, mostly in Tiszántúl and in the capital region.
On Tuesday, in the first half of the day, rain and showers are likely in Transdanubia, and then in the afternoon and evening, the precipitation zone will move to the east. Temporarily dry weather is expected on Wednesday, then from Thursday to Saturday precipitation is likely in several places again every day, so the autumn recharge of the soils will continue until the end of the week.
