AI-powered skin analysis now available at German dm stores thanks to Dermanostic
A new digital service has arrived at select dm drugstores in Germany: Dermanostic, a dermatology provider, now offers AI-supported skin analysis in five cities — Münster, Karlsruhe, Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Braunschweig.
Customers can upload a photo of their face either in-store or via smartphone, and receive personalized product recommendations from dm’s skincare range.
According to digital product designer Niklas Moldan, the suggested products are based on evaluations by certified dermatologists at Dermanostic. “Good skincare doesn’t have to cost a fortune,” Moldan noted in a LinkedIn post. The development team tailored the software specifically to dm’s technical environment and user needs, adapting it for mobile use and in-store terminals.
Beyond skin analysis, Dermanostic also provides an online dermatology service: users can upload photos of skin concerns and receive a diagnosis from licensed dermatologists within 24 hours. If necessary, private prescriptions are issued. The goal of this innovative solution is to make skincare more accessible, faster, and tailored to individual needs.
