Deodorant market expanding both in terms of quantity and value
According to Nielsen data, sales of deodorants grew by 10 per cent in terms of quantity in the March 2007–February 2008 period, while overall revenues grew by 9 per cent, to more than HUF 14 billion. Aerosols accounted for 51 per cent of total sales. Average unit prices rose by 2-3 per cent. Though the market share of men’s products continued to increase, women’s deodorants still account for 54 per cent of total sales in terms of quantity. Hyper markets and drugstores are the leading distribution channels, with respective market shares of 41 and 34 per cent.
