How well do you know Hungaricums?
The Ministry of Agriculture is launching a Hungaricum game. The aim of the initiative is to draw attention to our national values and the top achievements of Hungarians. A gift package will be drawn weekly among those who answer the questions correctly.

What do Baja fish soup and Hungarian notes have in common? How are pálinka and puli related? What do the works of Ferenc Puskás and János Neumann have in common? The correct answer: all of the listed items can be found in the Hungarian Collection. In the Ministry of Agriculture’s game starting on August 4, 2023, a thematic short film can be viewed weekly on the ministry’s Facebook page, in which you can get more information about our Hungarians. You can provide the answers to the questions from the entertaining films in the comments below the post. In the 6-week prize draw, a gift package will be drawn weekly among those who submit the correct answer.
“Hungaricum” is a collective term denoting the peak performance of Hungarians
It indicates a value worthy of distinction and highlighting, which is characteristic of Hungarianness, uniqueness, specialness and quality. Declaring a Hungarian citizen is a bottom-up, multi-step process that anyone can initiate by submitting the appropriate form. The first step is the declaration as a national value, the second step is the inclusion in the Hungarian Valuables, i.e. the declaration as an outstanding national value. The third, i.e. the last, step is the declaration as a Hungarikum, which is decided by the Hungarikum Committee. The collection currently includes 87 Hungarian items in 8 categories.
