The EU’s unemployment rate is at a low point
Employment has been rising over the past few years in the European Union and unemployment has been the lowest since the economic crisis in 2008, according to the European Commission’s Monday report on employment and social development in Europe.
The report shows that since 2013, 10 million jobs have been created in the EU, currently more than 234 million people are working.
Regarding the unemployment rate, however, there are significant differences between the Member States. While in Hungary, the UK, the Czech Republic, Malta, or Germany unemployment rate is 5 percent or less, unemployment rates in Greece and Spain exceed 20 percent. (MTI)
