The growth of mobile sales is on nadir
Worldwide mobile phone sales are increasing by only 4 percent this year. This is the lowest level since 2009. According to the analysis of IDC telecommunications market researcher published on Wednesday, the slowdown in economic growth has caused a strong drop in the demand for basic devices.
IDC expects that this year 1.8 billion mobile phones will be sold after last year's 1.7 billion. In 2016, 2.3 billion mobile phones are expected to be sold.
IDC forecasts that the Android will remain the leading software in the next four years, but its share will decrease then, from the current 61 percent to 53 percent in 2016. (MTI)
