More sun lotions sold in warmer climate
Demand for sun lotions is growing as a result of climate change. According to data from the Key Account Index of Nielsen, retail sales have expanded by 12 per cent both in terms of quantity and value in March 2007 – February 2008 period. The market share of private labels shows fluctuation over the year, dropping to less than 50 per cent in the summer and rising significantly in the winter. The children’s segment is also growing, though products intended for adults account for 84 per cent of the market in terms of value.
