A quarter of bees have died in recent months
A quarter of the bee stock has died in recent months due to viruses spread by the Asian bee mite. Domestic honey supply is assured, but it is possible that this year exports will be less – the president of the Békés County Beekeepers Association told MTI on Monday.
Haász Ferenc explained: In the autumn, 78 thousand bees were registered in the autumn. Since then, their number decreased by about 20,000 in recent months, and there were farmers who lost 70 percent of their bees. (MTI)
