Municipal lockdown ordered in part of Békéscsaba and Békés due to bee disease

The protection zone must be ordered for an area delimited by a radius of at least five kilometers around the infected apiary placed under local lockdown, and it partially affects the administrative area of ​​the Békéscsaba and Békés settlements, the government office said in its decision. During the lockdown, it is prohibited to take bees, hives, beekeeping tools and equipment, honey, comb and wax out of the area; to bring bees in; and to move or relocate apiaries. The bee colony of all apiaries under the protection zone must be examined by the bee health officer. If the beekeeper violates the above regulations, he or she may be fined by the food chain supervision. The municipal quarantine can be lifted if no place in the quarantined area is under local quarantine due to the disease, they wrote.
