Tesco would buy the Romanian Real-shops
According to the informations of Ziarul Financiar; Tesco would acquire the Real food stores in Romania. With the acquisition Tesco as a new entrant would be the third largest players in the Romanian food supply market.
Real, which is owned by he Metro group has a total of 24 stores in Romania, with a turnover of 760 million euros in 2009. Real is the third largest player in the Romanian market, behind the French Carrefour (950 million euros) and fellow German Kaufland (870 million euros). The Real Romania had 57 million euros losses in 2009. Real’s spokesman denied that they would sell any of their businesses in Romania – reports portfolio.hu.
