The port of Fonyód is being renovated
MA-HARD Shipping and Water Construction Ltd., a subsidiary of the KÉSZ Group, has been awarded the contract to modernize the port of Fonyód. The nearly 600 million forint investment will see the seawall completely renovated, the pier promenade and lighting modernized, and new community spaces, rest areas, green areas, tree-lined avenues and play areas created, MA-HARD Ltd. told MTI.
According to the information, a new 35-meter-long port seawall will be built with steel sheet metal as part of the 6,000-square-meter development. The pier promenade will be raised higher, and will be equipped with new covering, lighting and resting areas. The central square will be equipped with new covering and pavilions that will serve tourist and community functions.
In addition, the lookout tower and terrace of the pier head will be completely renovated, and the port environment will be made more attractive for everyone with newly planted tree lines, modern community spaces, play areas, drinking fountains and a bicycle point – they wrote.
The work, which is taking place in several phases, has already begun, and the construction will last until the end of May 2026.
