Swiss watch exports increased
Switzerland’s watch exports increased significantly in September on a year-on-year basis, to a much greater extent than in August. According to the Swiss watchmaking association’s website, September exports amounted to 1.820 billion FRF, 10.2 percent higher than a year before.
Growth was more modest in August; 1.5 percent.
In September, sales were mixed in the main export markets for Swiss watches.
After a 12.7 percent fall in August, Swiss watch exports to Hong Kong fell 4.6 percent to 196.7 million FRF in September, while to the United States rose by 14.7 percent to 214.8 million FRF last month. (MTI)
