Pig imports have jumped
Hungary’s imports of live pigs increased by more than 35 percent to 25,000 tons between January and April 2020 compared to the same period of the previous year – agrarszektor.hu, wrote.
The largest suppliers were Slovakia, Germany and Croatia. Regarding prices, it can be said that the producer price of domestically produced pigs for slaughter, excluding VAT and transport costs, was 542 HUF per kilogram in June 2020, which meant a 6 percent decrease compared to the average price of a year before.
