Coronavirus (COVID-19): Walmart Canada plans to triple ecommerce capacity
In response to the strong demand for its online grocery service during the coronavirus pandemic, Walmart Canada is planning to triple its ecommerce capacity.
The retailer shared details of its plan as part of an update from president and CEO, Haio Barbeito. Demand for its online grocery service continues to be high, with thousands of orders being fulfilled each day. Walmart Canada is focused on adding more capacity to the service, with additional pickup and delivery slots opening store-by-store. It is aiming to fulfil three times the number of current orders and has initiated a plan to support this, including recruiting 10,000 new associates.
