Sales growth of instant 3in1 coffees drawn to a halt
Despite that most Hungarian consumers buy ground roasted coffee, the segment continues to show a negative trend. According to data by GfK’s ConsumerScan, ground roasted coffee sales were down by 4 percent in the first six months, although the segment grew by 1 percent in value. In the first six months, the number of households buying this product decreased from 66 to 63 percent, compared to the same period last year. Instant 3in1 products were soaring in the past few years, but this year this category also decreased, by 1 percent in terms of volume. The proportion of 3in1 buying consumers fell from 29 to 27 percent in the first six months. Our main sources of coffee are hypermarkets, discounts and small shops.
