Tesco’s results were affected by the coronavirus pandemic
The pre-tax profit of Tesco, the largest UK retail network, declined in the financial year ending February 2020-2021, mainly due to outages and additional costs caused by the coronavirus pandemic. In its report on Wednesday, the company said that its Central European division was also affected by the pandemic.
According to a 132-page preliminary report published on the London Stock Exchange, group-level sales rose by 7 percent from 49.9 billion pounds in 2019-2020 to 53.4 billion pounds (22,300 billion HUF), but pre-tax profit at group level rose by 19.7 percent. It fell to 825 million pounds. (MTI)
