Surveillance zones for avian influenza have been lifted
The laboratory of the National Food Chain Safety Authority has not detected any new cases of avian influenza since the beginning of May, so the authority has lifted the surveillance zones set up around the outbreaks. The mandatory confinement of poultry has also been withdrawn by the national chief veterinarian, and the procedure for introduction and re-introduction has been modified.

The authority has not detected any new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the surveillance zone covering the five counties of Bács-Kiskun, Békés, Csongrád-Csanád, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok and Pest since May 6. Based on the favorable results and the completion of other official measures (such as disinfection works), the restricted zones have been lifted.
The national chief veterinarian has withdrawn his decision requiring the mandatory confinement of poultry
A new introduction and re-introduction procedure came into effect on June 5, the requirements of which must be applied to the re-introduction of affected farms. Nébih draws the attention of animal keepers to the fact that the risk of avian influenza is constantly present, therefore compliance with disease control measures is of utmost importance.
