Magazine: The results of the POPAI Awards display competition

Works competing in the first Hungarian POPAI Awards were exhibited at the Business Days conference, where 82 conference participants undertook the difficult task of jurying. About 300 participants looked around the exhibition, but the long evaluation form was mostly filled out by designated experts – entries were described anonymously, so jury members were not influenced by contestants’ names. In the Durables category there were five entries, while in the Non-durable category there were eight. P.O.S. Almási and ITT Production cooperated to create a Delikát8 Playground Installation, calling attention to the ‘Cook a playground’ programme. Shelf stoppers by POS Media Variations for 3D aimed at activating shoppers in a playful way, communicating the message of Libero and Zewa.

Beflex Solutions Kft. entered the competition with a white, oval-shaped Dolce Gusto Coffeemaker display, supporting the launch of Nescafé Dolce Gusto-Krups coffeemaker. Forma Display came with an elegant, dark green floor display for Szamos desserts. HPS Experience Kft.’s four-pallet island display for Chio focused on the 2010 Football World Cup, urging customers to try the limited edition Chio Chakalaka.

Dove Men Vacuum-formed Shelf Tray by P.O.S. Almási Kft. presented the complete assortment of Dove men’s body lotion products, perfectly meeting the expectations of the DM chain. HD Group Kft. and Ékezet Production & Marketing Agency cooperated in realising the collection of Pöttyös Guru Hostess Promotion Tools – a ‘golf cart’ highlighted the special nature of the product and the campaign. Mobilia-Artica Formatervező Kft. brought a giant totem, a digital poster with coupon printer that is a monitor complex which grabs the attention of shoppers with video footages and moving images.

For certain products discount coupons can be ordered – these can be printed by the shoppers themselves. D’ArcyAvenue Advertising Agency Kft. entered the competition with three tools, all of which were related to bakery products and formed part of a complex Interspar campaign. OSG Form Kft. exhibited a paper display in the shape of a Dolmio sauce bottle. Beflex Solutions Kft.’s Dolce Gusto Coffeemaker won in the Non-FMCG Durables category. Mobilia-Artica Formatervező Kft.’s futuristic solution was the winner of the FMCG Durables category. In the FMCG Non-durable category D’ArcyAvenue Advertising Agency Kft. finished first with their ‘Straight from the oven’ bakery product display. Nagel Hungária Kft. was the main sponsor of the First Hungarian POPAI Awards and their special prize went to Forma Display Kft.’s floor display.

The ceremonial presentation of the awards will take place in the BKIK building on 18 November. All four winners will represent Hungary at the First Global POPAI Awards in Düsseldorf’s EuroShop.
