The head of Tesco spoke
According to the rationale, “this allows the company to more optimally allocate its employees by being able to employ colleagues for different tasks. By creating new jobs, the goal is to create a unified, long-term, flexible store team in each store, in their day-to-day tasks and so they can best serve their customers”. This is exactly in line with what Matt Simister, CEO of Tesco Central Europe, said about the reorganization in an interview with the Pénzcentrum: “We are modernizing our stores to meet changing customer needs.” (penzcentrum.hu)
