The best Hungarian restaurants have retained their Michelin stars and ratings

The 2023 edition of the MICHELIN Guide Hungary was published today, highlighting the best restaurants in the country. The publication presents 75 restaurants, including a kitchen that has just won the MICHELIN Green Star award.

On Thursday, Michelin announced the list of Hungarian restaurants included in the 2023 edition of the MICHELIN Guide Hungary. This year, the Guide recommends a total of 75 restaurants, of which 28 are located in Budapest and 47 in the countryside. Of these, 2 are two-star restaurants, 7 are one-star restaurants, 7 are Bib Gourmand restaurants – one of the latter has just appeared in the publication for the first time – and 59 are other recommended restaurants, of which 14 are presented for the first time. In addition, 5 restaurants were awarded the MICHELIN Green Star rating – one of them was awarded for the first time this year.

“Since we follow the exciting gastronomic development not only in Budapest, but throughout the country, we are pleased to announce that we are presenting 14 new restaurants in the second edition of the MICHELIN Guide Hungary,” emphasized Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the MICHELIN Guide. “The 2023 edition celebrates the culinary diversity of the current offer, recognizing one restaurant with a Bib Gourmand rating for its excellent value cuisine, and another with a MICHELIN Green Star recognition for its fantastic achievements in the field of sustainability.”
