Carrefour opens its 13th hypermarket in Romania
The French retailer invested EUR20 million to its new hypermarket, but for this year it stopped the opening and focus on rebranding of the old stores.
The new hypermarket is located in the
Armonia commercial centre in the western city of Arad and has a sales
area of 7,400 square metres. The retailer stated that a further 10
hypermarkets are due to be opened in Romania by the end of 2009 in
the cities of Oradea, Pitesti, Sibiu, Deva, Buzau, Braila, Iasi,
Constanta and Bucharest (two stores). Carrefour also operates 21
supermarkets which will be rebranded as Carrefour Express by the end
of the year.
