Żabka Opens 100th Froo Store In Romania
Poland’s Żabka Group has opened its 100th Froo convenience store, just 12 months after entering the Romanian market.
The format’s popularity is evident in the strong consumer response, with over one million hot dogs and 600,000 cups of coffee sold in its first year alone, the company noted.
Froo’s operating model in Romania fosters local entrepreneurship, offering opportunities for individuals to open stores under the Froo banner, and for existing store owners to join the network.
Since its market entry, Froo has opened a store, on average, every three days, mostly in residential areas or on busy streets, in Bucharest, Pitești and Constanța.
These multifunctional stores offer a wide range of food products and ready-to-eat meals, including Froo’s private-label items. They also provide hot food and coffee through the dedicated Froo Bistro.

Over 80% of the assortment is sourced from Romanian producers, with additional items provided by international and Polish suppliers, reflecting the brand’s slogan, Tot ce vrei tu în fiecare froo (‘You will find everything you need in every Froo’).
Logistics and supply chain services are ensured by DRIM Daniel Distributie, a subsidiary of the Żabka Group.
Żabka Polska’s VP, Anna Grabowska, commented, “This is just the beginning of our journey – we are learning, observing consumer behaviour, building the foundation for a long-term presence on the Romanian market.”
The company’s expansion into Romania will serve as a test bed, to see if it can replicate the success that it had achieved in Poland.
In its home market, Żabka operates over 11,600 stores run by more than 10,000 franchisees.
Elsewhere, Żabka has appointed Adam Manikowski as the chief executive officer of the Żabka Polska business unit, effective since 1 June 2025.
