The SzakMÁzz! career choice exhibition has opened in Budapest
The SzakMÁzz! career choice exhibition opened in the BOK Hall on Tuesday, where 134 exhibitors and more than 100 professions will be introduced to young people who are about to choose a career.
At the opening of the event, Balázs Hankó, Minister of Culture and Innovation, recalled that the Hungarian team won a total of 4 gold, 2 silver, 5 bronze and 5 excellence medals in the professions competition at this year’s European Championships held in Denmark.
According to the minister, approximately 400 billion forints have been spent on the development of vocational training so far, and within this, renovations worth 100 billion forints are underway at 34 locations. Students in vocational training receive scholarships and are also entitled to a career start-up grant of 150,000–300,000 forints, and can also use an interest-free worker loan of 4 million forints.
Balázs Hankó said that the 24,000 instructors working in vocational training have received an average two-and-a-half-fold salary increase in the recent period. Artificial intelligence education has already begun in 60 vocational training institutions, and according to plans, it will be available in all vocational training institutions by the spring of 2026.
Sára Botond, Lord Mayor of Budapest, also spoke at the event, highlighting the importance of social appreciation of professions and professional knowledge.
